Are JW's Self-righteous?
by Honesty ina good friend who is a police officer told me last night that he believes a lot of the jw's he has met through the years in his line of work are extremely self-righteous.
i didn't have much of a reply but it did get me thinking about what he said.
so, what do you guys think?

hello all - new here
by GoingGoingGone inhello everyone, this is my first post.... i'm in the process of fading after being a jw my entire life (almost).
i don't go to meetings anymore..... hubby's an elder, and boy, is he mad.
he still makes the kids go with him to meetings, service, etc... they hate it and i feel sorry for them, but there's not much i can do about it.. i've been feeling lonely today, i do miss my friends sometimes, and i have really good friends, but since i don't go to meetings i never see them much anymore.

Welcome to the board GGG.
I'm glad you found this place so you will not feel so alone in your transition. It's not quite the same as friends in real life but it sure helps alot to be able to speak your mind and the potential to meet real people here is pretty good.

More fluff, how many remotes does it take to watch TV?
by wanderlustguy ini have 3 here, counting the one for the xbox dvd.
one for the cable box, and another for the tv because it's a dish network flatscreen and they don't share all the codes with the time warner remote.. i know...makes no sense.. .

I Saw Dubs.... In 80+ Degrees at 11:00 AM Today In Full Uniform
by HappyDad infor the first time in over a year..........maybe longer.............i saw dubs in fs at 11:00 am today as i was about to enter a local eatery for lunch.
i just had to stop and watch them for a couple of minutes with mixed feelings.
these feelings went from loathing to pity.......no iota of guilt on my part though!

I feel sorry for the kids.
I remember being a little kid and going out in service and getting so sick and such bad headaches from the sun. I hated it. Hours seemed like days. Thank God I didn't have to go out on Sundays too like my cousins did.
